She works all day and works all night,
Fighting this constant never ending fight,
And if you ask her, it's all right
But deep inside she's losing her light
Each day it's fading, Running on fumes
Having to search for fuel just to get through
And She isn't quite sure what she will do
But She'll do anything that she has to
Because she's tired of these dreams failing,
And she knows it can't always be this way
And though right now things are confusing,
She hopes that she can think of the right thing to say
To make it right, for once, and for all
So that she won't have to always take the fall
For the mistakes of others, placing the blame
On her to make her, feel unearned shame
She works all day, and works all night
Fighting this constant never ending fight
Hoping one day it will all be alright,
Hoping that maybe someday it might.
and finally, once she is free
Her light can shine on you and on me.
